The book - Joli jour, by Aude Malbat
A poetic stroll through faded objects, soft light and invisible memory
Summary
A book like a visual and sensory stroll through forgotten places, between faded bouquets, deserted interiors and worthless but soulful objects.
Through her photographs and her eye, Aude Jolijour, stylist, textile designer and photographer, captures the imperfection, nostalgia and discreet beauty of what we no longer look at.
Each image is a fragment of memory, an echo of ancient history, an evocation of an old-fashioned atmosphere.
To leaf through this book is to listen to the whisper of time, to be touched by the fragility of the moment, to be moved by the unnoticed.
A contemplative and moving visual journey, between silence and enchantment.
About the project
JOLI JOUR was born of a vital need: to gather together what moves us.
Faded flowers, weathered objects, silent places... This book-object is an intimate expression of this.
"I wanted to make it a collection of images that tell what words keep silent:
the sweetness of the past, the happy melancholy, the fragile magic of everyday life."
Between photography, painting, decoration and textiles, this book is a silent manifesto, an ode to imperfection, to unspectacular beauty, to what we no longer look at.
A book to leaf through slowly, like exploring an abandoned house: with curiosity, respect and wonder.

A work at the crossroads of the arts
This book reads like a visual work, but also like an author's eye, at the crossroads of image, matter and sensibility.
It is for those who love the silent poetry of things, forgotten atmospheres, and objects that tell without speaking.
